Bitching about the Livestream 2011 WSOP Coverage

Last year, someplace, I wrote that they should just make an area with a couple tables all set up for recording Final Tables where anytime they have a star-studded one, they can move the players there and record it for TV or at least live stream it.    So, they took my advice.   (yeah - I know - probably didn't really get it just from me - or from me at all but ...)

WHY DID THEY SCREW IT UP?

WTF, guys?  The last thing we need to see is a static shot of a bunch of players at a table, half of whom have their backs to us.  We aren't the general public, we are poker fans!!  Ya dig?  We want to see the cards.  You put the friggin' camera over the table just like before so we can see the play.  You have an announcer who uses the players' names and calls the action so we know who is in which seat.  You have the small shot be the full table in case anyone punches anyone else out, we don't want to miss it.  You tell the crowd to shut the fuck up, so we can hear the players talk.

How complicated can it be to understand???

Does no one associated with making these decisions actually play the game? Do you not, yourselves, know what you'd like to see? This ain't HSP - this is the real thing - it's the cards, the action, that's the game.

Give us the game.
