Days off plus 2+2 Bits and Pieces

the 'woods   I've been playing daily for a while and I finally had to take some time and clean my house, wash my disgusting floor and launder my clothes. (I'm sure my tablemates will appreciate that last.) When I'm playing I hardly have the time or energy to blog about it and when I'm off I don't want to think about it but here are a couple thoughts.


Dealers Keeping Tips

Finally they do something right. Games And atmosphere much improved, dealers doing much better job.  Downside for them is the Bad Beat Jackpots which are the downside for all the low limit players.  I'll only tip a fairly large pot. I'm more likely to tip an impressive handling of the table whether I've won during that dealer's stay or not.

Still at $2/4

I've been playing regularly since Black Friday pretty much.  I had to learn LHE, really, I only played it during HORSE: stay tight and make a profit strategy.  This is completely different.

You can throw the books out.  When there are always 6-8 players in pf, there's pretty much nothing that's foldable from any position that can be defined as a hand in LHE (prs, suited cards, connectors, any two brdwy cards.) The trick to winning here is folding fast when you don't hit.  And indentifying player types.    I started steadily making a profit around September I guess and now I expect to take home make about 2 BB an hour.   I dunno, maybe I'm getting too comfortable but I have no desire to move up and start learning another set of players and more aggressive play until I have a real BR for the limit, which I'll have by Dec 1, poker goddess willin' and the creek don't rise.  But the holidays I hear can be very profitable and I may stay where I am and know how to win if there's going to be a lot of drunk money floating around.

I fully expect to be playing online soon, like by this summer, and I'd like to just be able to stick 5k on Stars and not have to grind back up from micro again.  I feel like I'm in protect my stack mode.

Still...  if it looks like there's not going to be any online, maybe I'll just mosey on over to that O8 game they have going this spring.  Now that looks like fun.

2+2  When I don't play I go to the Foxwoods forum on 2+2, the B&M poker is the only area worth a read, really, except for the non-NLHE strat forums.  But I do check NVG in case someone dies or they suddenly legalize online..  Checking the Foxq woods forum explained why some dealer tried to talk me into posting instead of waiting a hand for the BB: he said I didn't want to miss it is the Bad Beat Jackpot hit.  Guy I never saw before.  (I think my tourist disguise must be working!)  Then I found out on 2+2 that when it got hit a day I wasn't there, the dealer got over 7k in tips.  Uh-huh!   anyway.. bits and pieces...

Yeah this was really controversial.  I thought it was nice someone noted you should tip them.  Wonder what advertiser this pissed off?  I should start a thread about tipping the restroom attendants.  Yeah, guys, toss 'em a buck once in a while.

Kicked Out for Playing Badly?
This is probably the most interesting thread on the forum today, it's discussing ethics in the poker room.  WTF?  Why would anyone close this?  Guy is totally drunk donking off his roll and the management  removes him for "his own good?"  Musta been a friend of the manager.  But why close the thread?

Combating Collusion
So the "referee" (what's that, anyway?) says this: The thought that at Foxwoods there is an organized attempt to collude at 2/4 limit is laughable.  Thread wasn't going anywhere, OP left after standard 2+2 gang-up, but, uh, venice10 oughta know that the question at 2/4 Foxwoods isn't if there is collusion, it's which players are doing it.   Think it got closed when OP told the mod his post was worthless.  LOL!

Post 10497: FW has a shopping card promo this week: "You will receive a $25 promotional card for every 25 Dream Points you earn" from 6 am Thursday 11/17 through Sunday 11/20.

Ever since I moved I haven't been getting promos in the mail even though I changed my address with them, like twice.  I was going to take the rest of the week off and not go in until Friday, but I see a Thursday morning session in my future.

Ah!  It's 3am.  Almost bedtime.
